Maths Matters within the Curriculum Improvement Cycle
Mon, 21 September 2026, 16:00 - Tue, 21 September 2027, 17:00As part of Scotland's Curriculum Improvement Cycle (CIC), work is underway to review and refresh the curriculum to ensure it continues to meet the needs of learners, educators and society. During Maths Week Scotland, this webinar will provide an introduction to the Curriculum Improvement Cycle and an overview of the mathematics work undertaken to date.
Participants will hear about the purpose of the CIC, the process being followed, and some of the emerging ideas shaping the future of the mathematics curriculum in Scotland. The session will explore how the Know-Do-Understand model is being developed, the importance of connections within and beyond mathematics, and how the emerging framework seeks to support high-quality learning across the Broad General Education.
The webinar will be similar in scope to Andy's previous presentations on this topic, including his keynote address to the Scottish Mathematical Council, while also providing any relevant updates on progress and developments since those earlier engagements.

This event is for professionals within the Education Sector in Scotland.

Joining the event
Joining instructions will be sent out 48 hours before the event. Attendees are advised to check they receive a confirmation email from Eventbrite. Failure to do so could prevent you from attending the event. Contact the events team if you have not received joining instructions by one hour before the event time.
