What we do

Education Scotland is a curriculum focused organisation. We are prioritising collaboration, ensuring it is embedded in everything we do. For example, we are building on our recent successful approach to working with educators through the Curriculum Improvement Cycle. This helps us to listen and learn, working collaboratively with the wider education community and beyond and those who work within it.

This improved collaboration means we can develop the right support and resources at the right time, communicate more effectively and help develop cohesive practices across the curriculum, learning, teaching and assessment.

Based on our engagements with educators, we develop high quality resources that support practitioners in delivering meaningful learning experiences. This helps us continue to improve the way we work by adopting a user-focused and evidence-based approach.

Professional learning

Education Scotland continues to support professional learning across a range of areas, including the curriculum, building on the national leadership professional learning programmes.

With our focus on the curriculum we:

• promote approaches to improvement, helping educators to achieve equity through the curriculum

• work in partnership to develop curricular approaches which meet a wide range of learner needs, support wellbeing, inclusion and positive behaviour and relationships

• collaborate throughout and across the range of our work

• want educators to inform and influence our work on the curriculum and how we do it
