The Progress in International Reading Literacy Study (PIRLS) is a large, international study which takes place every five years.  It is run across more than 60 countries and education systems. 

PIRLS assesses and compares how well children read and how they learn at around the age of 10 (Primary 5 in Scotland).  The study is fully digital, which means it will be carried out on a computer.
